SPD (Modified Wheel) 300 on 10.5"

SPD (Modified Wheel) 300 on 10.5"

"300 was the magic number… and in total alignment with the front wheel" that was the really tricky assignment.
O.K. we thought, let's get on with it:

Firstly we needed a wider wheel. So we widened the standard rim out to no less than 10.5". How?...: The HD® wheel is mounted to a special lathe and the original rim is machined off. Then a new, wider rim is welded in place & the surface is powder coated in matt black. All with TüV Approval!

To ensure the mega fat rubber has enough room a wide tire swing arm must be fitted. We widen your original one in this case! Of course that's also TüV Approved. For more info see Swing Arms.

A further problem involves the drive belt which must be mounted 40mm further outward. To ensure the drive pulley is fully supported an offset pulley with support bearing is used. More info can be found under Support Bearing Plate.

The next problem: Brakes with ABS. The sensors for this safety enhancement sit directly at the wheel bearings, i.e. deep within the wheel… What's to be done? We've designed a special spacer so that the complete ABS braking unit can be located on the swing arm as originally intended.

The final touch is the rear fender. We use our Stiletto Fender 3-XL. More info see under Fender. A suitable seat base is included in the kit.

Job done!!!

- Once the modified wheel is powder coated (included in the kit) the red stripe is lost. We can offer a 3M® decal as a replacement. It's pretty tough, but not suitable for cleaning with a pressure washer, but then you shouldn't be using one of them on your pride & joy any how...

- In the process of widening the swing arm some paint has to be removed. On request we can powder coat the swing arm following it's modification.
