M109 Temptation

The Delta Art, to driving Intruder

More info about this product

Temptation is everywhere, whether it’s a super car, a cool bike or a hot chick. And temptations from the Far East range from sampling the highly poisonous Fugu fish, a full body massage, to bikes produced in the land of the rising sun.
But sometimes we’re just not satisfied with what’s on offer and reach for Soya sauce to spice up the sushi, silicone for re-shaping the female form, or, as in this case, quality German parts to enhance the bike. The M 1800 has proportions akin to a sumo wrestler with stick thin arms and tiny feet, so we put our heads together to turn it into a real power house.
To bring the proportions up to European standards needed more than botox & silicone. So we knew we would have to resort to extensive surgical procedures. We had to dig deep into our box of tricks and the Temptation received not just a fat 10 x 18 rear wheel, but also a drive side braking set up. The right hand side view is freed of braking components & the left hand side became a real highlight.
Up front the Temptation has a 4.5 x 18 wheel fitted with a 130 tire and brake discs to match the wheel design.

We’ve radically lowered the bike by 40mm in order that the foundations for a stunning entrance are ensured.
The standard M 1800 fenders were scrapped at the beginning of this customization job and replaced by Delta parts. A 150mm Tribal fender is fitted at the front using a special mounting kit. At the rear we fitted a Stiletto fender designed by us & both provide just the right amount of tire coverage, but not too much.
As usual the temptation to go that little bit further was too much to resist, so we integrated a LED light bar into the rear fender. This avoided spoiling the lines of the 3D rear fender with a more conventional rear light.
The standard gas tank originally fitted to the bike was also completely modified. The integrated instrument panel mounted in the tank & the aircraft style fuel filler enhance its flowing lines.
Another special touch are the rear indicators integrated into special side covers and the standard front indicators have been replaced by Kellermann Micro indicators in Delta mountings.

If you decide to embark on such a radical customization job then of course the details are crucial. A bike christened Temptation is just asking for the full works when it comes to which custom parts are to be fitted. A set of fat 30mm Zero Cool handlebars, with all cables internally routed, a polished drive shaft cover & a set of chromed mirrors contribute to the great looks. From the factory the M 1800 engine is no slouch, but the sound, like many modern bikes is pitiful. The standard exhaust strangles the life out of it, you almost need a hearing aid. We’ve got a specially developed Delta Zero Cool exhaust for this model that produces a satisfyingly, deep, legal sound, which can be varied by the adjustable end caps.

The Hyperchargers mounted on both sides of the bike add to the brutal look. As is so often the case, the question of the paintwork was left until the very end. A black base coat can never be wrong but on this project we couldn’t leave it at that. Purple is meant to be the color of temptation but that just wouldn’t be right.

To incorporate the subject of temptation into the paint design, Fineline has airbrushed in suitable objects in such a way, that you would only notice them after taking a second, closer look, something he’s definetely succeeded in.
We may never know where the girls came from who were the inspiration, but we would have loved to have taken part in the casting.

This is the second stage of customizing this M 1800, but not the last. Some more fine tuning, more polished components and everything to get a man’s heart racing are planned for the winter break.
A man just can’t resist being tempted…
