VTX 1300

The Joint Project

More info about this product

Honda Harke are widely renowned for their racing activities but they wanted to branch out into the cruiser customizing scene and fell upon the idea of modifying the Honda VTX 1300. Because of the proximity to Delta Custom Bikes and Airworxx Attack a decision was made to work together on the VTX Project. The nature and extent of the customization was quickly agreed after a phone call with Delta.

The aim was to carry out subtle modifications to the bike at a reasonable price and with a sportier look. What could be better than a short Stiletto rear fender combined with a 200 wide tire kit. This rear end with it's fender struts is ideal for carrying a pillion passenger and in no way restricts the everyday usage of the bike. The 7x15 spoked wheel utilizes the original hub, which reduces the strain on the wallet a little, and has a 200/70R15 tire mounted on it that runs with minimal modification in the standard swing arm. The license plate holder complete with a Matrix LED rear light and Kellermann indicators finish off the rear end.

The standard front tire was retained and a Tribal front fender complete with mounting kit gives the bike a much slimmer look compared to the oversized original fender and allows the standard headlight to dominate the front end. The 940 mm wide superbike handlebars are mounted on 120 mm pullback aluminium risers which give the rider a totally relaxed riding position. The wide bars also promote extremely predictable handling. OMP Style mirrors grace the front end and the chromed Kellermann indicators further enhance the look.

Of course a cool air cleaner is a crucial component of a custom bike and what could be better than a Hypercharger. It doesn't just look cool but it also allows the engine to breathe easier than the standard air cleaner. To ensure this improvement isn't strangled by the exhaust we've fitted an approved Delta stainless steel exhaust system. This also contains a set of adjustable end caps which ensures the deep growl of the 1300cc engine is unleashed. Finally Airworxx Attack had their part to play. The airbrusher conjured up classic flames over a new base coat transforming a grey little mouse into a genuine custom bike, all at a price that didn't break the bank.
